OCT 2011 - DUBLIN (PART 1), IRELAND
Rainforest Adventure Golf in Dublin, Ireland, opened its doors to the public this October, bang on time after a 3 month build. This 2-course, 36-hole complex is located at the huge Dundrum shopping complex in Dublin and features an Aztec themed course and a Mayan themed course, each winding through the rain forest, with appropriate jungle sounds, lighting and special effects along the way.

OCT 2011 - DUBLIN (PART 2), IRELAND
The extensive themeing even extends to the Reception and Cafe areas (the Canopy Cafe) and as players make their way around the indoor courses, they may well consider themselves truly lost in the rain forest, with rain effects, thunder & lightning, birds & cicadas and even capuchin monkeys putting in a surprise appearance from time to time!

OCT 2011 - DUBLIN (PART 3), IRELAND
Castle Golf and their partners, Adventure Golf Developments, designed and built this impressive complex and the build was achieved in an intense 3 month period. In July, the venue was just a large, open indoor space. Three months later and it's a rain forest, with Aztec temples, dense foliage and 36 holes of themed Adventure Golf. The development is the latest in a long line of similar projects throughout the UK and Europe by the team, as high end, top quality indoor and outdoor Adventure Golf becomes an established part of the leisure scene this side of the Atlantic.

OCT 2011 - DUBLIN (PART 4), IRELAND
Rainforest Adventure Golf has got off to a good start even before the 'official' opening, with 2,000 invited guests playing over the first weekend and a further 5,000 players, employees of this vast shopping centre, playing the following week. This was followed by a big launch with the national media present. Dublin has now joined the impressive list of major European cities in Castle Golf's and Adventure Golf Developments' ever expanding portfolio.

JULY 2011 - DUBLIN, IRELAND
July 2011 and work is about to begin on a new 36-hole indoor Adventure Golf complex in Dublin. Located at the Dundrum Shopping Centre, this award winning location already boasts the award for Shopping Centre of the Year 2009 and International Shopping Centre of the Year 2006. The home of the Mill Theatre and multi-screen cinemas, the site is already firmly established as one of Dublin's key leisure, restaurant and shopping destinations and this new exciting development, with a rain-forest theme, is sure to enhance it's attraction still further. It is planned to fully complete construction in three months, opening mid-October, well in time for the Christmas rush.

JULY 2011 - INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENTS
The team is venturing still further afield, quite a ways beyond Europe, as contracts have now been signed for the design of three themed outdoor courses in - wait for it - Vietnam, no less. This is very exciting as it entails designing not just for a new country but for a completely different culture. Discussions on the design and themeing have been ongoing for sometime but the design team are now in full flow.
And if all that wasn't enough, detailed design is now also underway on an 18 hole outdoor course in Germany, this time with a mediaeval theme.

MAR 2011 - HASTINGS, ENGLAND (UK)
The new 18-hole Pirate Golf course in Hastings, East Sussex, is now open. Featuring set-piece battles between 2 pirate ships, every 20 minutes the course erupts in an explosion (several of them in fact) of cannon fire and giant water splashes as the 2 captains battle it out for the treasure. The show has become quite an attraction in itself with passers-by on the promenade stopping to take photos and (more importantly) then coming over to purchase a game. The course took less than 6 months to build, including 2 weeks lost to ice, snow and Christmas and actually opened several weeks ahead of the intended date. |

FEB 2011 - HASTINGS(UK) PIRATE COURSE UPDATE
Work is moving on apace on the new showpiece for Hastings Adventure Golf. This outdoor 18-hole course will feature state-of-the-art special effects and features. As players progress around the course, sinister voices will talk to them from the bushes, warning of dire consequences if they miss their shot. The course features 2 pirate ships with set piece battles, exchange of canon fire, explosions and splashes (over the players, naturally). There is a giant skull that lights up and eats your golf ball. Starting early March, the carpet and the complex electronics begin to be installed. The course will open for Easter, earlier if the weather stays kind. |

HASTINGS (UK) - ADVENTURE GOLF IMPROVEMENTS
Tiki Poles arrive in Hastings. 3 talking, spitting Tiki poles have been installed on the Hastings Adventure Golf course. These characters have built-in sensors and when a passing golfer comes near, they spring into life, talking and squirting jets of water. They have a wide repertoire of sounds and effects and they have quickly become a major attraction. Passers-by on the promenade gather to watch the unsuspecting victims on the course.

HASTINGS (UK) - ADVENTURE COURSE IMPROVEMENTS
The Hastings Adventure Golf Course has received still more enhancements with not just the new spitting, talking Tiki poles but no less than 24 new 'Dancing Fountains'. The waterfalls and standard fountains have long been a major feature of the course but now, every few minutes, a computer lowers the main fountains and a whole series of dancing water displays begin. These include chase sequences, 'chaotic' displays - a variety of programmable sequences. The staff find it amusing to see people on passing tourist coaches, standing at the coach windows and trying to get photos as they drive pass.

Hastings has long been the definitive site for Miniature Golf in the UK with three, 18-hole courses. The oldest course, Minigolf is now receiving a major make-over and will become Pirate Golf for 2011. Using the design team successfully employed in so many other venues, the plan is to maintain Hastings' position as the premier seaside Minigolf location in the UK
